12th Annual Ocean Concrete Open House at Granville Island
Have you ever wanted to hop aboard and honk the horn of a concrete truck? What about getting up close and personal with the inside of a truck drum or climbing into the cab of North America's largest concrete mixer truck?
Join us Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 9 am to 5 pm as Ocean Concrete will be opening its gate to the general public for its 12th Annual Open House. Look for the 175 foot concrete boom pump extended high above Granville Street Bridge.
There will be interactive displays, prizes, balloons for the kids and tours. Don't forget to check out the one-of-a-kind educational ball machine. Kids young and old will be able to climb into trucks and onto equipment to honk the horns and imagine operating these giants of industry. Three truckloads of sand and toys transform part of our yard into a huge sand box for kids to play in.
Talk to experts in the concrete industry about everything from uses to recycling waste concrete. See the history of the Granville Island location with on-site vintage trucks and photographs and discover why Ocean Concrete is the industry leader in environmental accomplishments.
Granville Island Public Market and The Net Loft are open until 7 pm, seven days a week. For more information about merchants and special events, visit granvilleisland.com.
